Chip Tuning is a performance enhancement process performed by recalibrating the software on your vehicle's engine and transmission control units (ECU and TCU). With the changes made to the software, the engine's operating parameters are optimized and more power and torque are obtained. Remap is another name for this process.
The electronic control units of the vehicles contain software files in different formats specific to the brands and models. In order to make changes to these files, they need to be converted into "base maps". The process of creating a base map requires high-level engineering knowledge.
After the preparation of the base maps, the "calibration-test drive-data analysis" cycle is run repeatedly and eventually the most suitable performance software for the vehicles is developed by calibration engineers.
RSA MOTORSPORTS is one of the rare companies in the sector that performs all of these mentioned processes in-house and has full control over the product it offers to the user. Performing all of these complex processes in-house requires a certain level of competence and also serious labor and workforce. For this reason, it is not possible to repeat these processes separately for each brand and model vehicle.
It is not in accordance with RSA MOTORSPORTS working principles to offer its customers a software product developed by other individuals/companies, including base maps. For this reason, our company develops engine and transmission software only for vehicles of the VAG group, BMW and Mercedes.
The Electronic Control Units (ECU) of BMW vehicles manufactured after the 6th month of 2020 are locked and put into use with a different security protocol that was not applied in previous years. For this reason, BMW vehicles manufactured after this date must first be subjected to the "FEMTOEVO UNLOCK" process in order to make the software available. You can find detailed information on the subject in the "BMW UNLOCK" section of our page, the link to which is below.
RSA MOTORSPORTS software has successfully passed long-term test applications, has been tested on hundreds of vehicles and works flawlessly. However, in case of any problem you may experience, whether it is related to the software or not, you should take into consideration the risk that "your vehicle may be out of warranty" depending on the attitude of the service and the type of problem you can experience. On the other hand, there has been no feedback from our customers who have had their maintenance done at the authorized service on time regarding having problems with the warranty.
Our software is extremely secure software that has been developed by remaining within the calibration limits without bypassing the protective limiters determined by the factory and presented to the users after all the tests have been completed. The most important basis of the mutual trust relationship between us and the users who have received service from us so far has been RSA MOTORSPSORTS not compromising on these principles. However, despite all this, the issues of proper maintenance of the vehicle, its healthy use and not damaging the vehicle are issues that are under the control/responsibility of the user and that we cannot interfere with. Therefore, it is not possible for us to give an official guarantee for the vehicles we have developed software for.
Yes, we work with an appointment system. The software process usually takes 2-3 hours. First, we go on a road test with your vehicle. With the data-logging process, your vehicle's engine data is recorded and analyzed. If there is a mechanical problem that prevents the calibration you are asked to fix the problem first, if there is no obstacle, your original software is read from the engine control unit and a backup is made. Then, the RSA MOTORSPORTS software calibrated specifically for your vehicle is loaded into your vehicle and the road test is started again. The log is taken again during the road test, and it is checked whether the vehicle's engine data is at the desired level after the new software, and the processes are completed.
We do not have a specific mileage or year limit for software applications. However, additional checks may be made for high mileage or older vehicles. After additional checks are made, it is decided with the user whether or not to implement the application.
No, we do not implement software for naturally aspirated engines.
Due to environmental sensitivity and legal obligations, we do not recommend the removal of DPF, EGR, Adblue and catalyst systems. We do not apply software to vehicles with DPF and EGR removed. Such interventions may increase your vehicle's emission values and may pose a risk of not passing the inspection.
As RSA Motorsports, we do not have any fuel saving software applications. In normal use, your vehicle will consume the same amount as its original. In high-performance use, consumption will increase by 15-20%.
We do not perform any mechanical work, we only provide software support. Some of our performance applications do not require any mechanical work, but in some of our software versions that require additional hardware changes, users can receive software support from our application points after having their vehicles prepared at the relevant mechanical services.
It is very difficult for our performance software (thanks to some applications we do in the background) to be detected by authorized services with normal service applications. However, in some unusual cases, the service may investigate other units, perform a test drive, and as a result of these , it may be determined that changes have been made to the engine control unit.
Yes. The original file of your vehicle is stored by RSA MOTORSPORTS. You can re-upload your original file at any time for free within the first year.
