On this page we aim to share — in the clearest terms we can — the know-how we have built over nearly 20 years about certain engines and technical topics, before and after tuning, together with the questions you are most curious about.

Ethanol Use in Vehicles
RSA Motorsports software is tuned to the maximum ratio your vehicle supports. Adding more ethanol than the stated ratio will not provide extra benefit.

ŞanzımanBMW G60 520i Software
Unlike earlier G-chassis 1600cc cars, G60 520i vehicles have started using a Vitesco (Continental) Engine Control Unit (ECU).
ŞanzımanRSA Motorsports ZF8 V1/V2 Transmission Software
Transmission software is the process of recalibrating your car's transmission control unit (TCU) to optimize the transmission's performance and its harmony with the engine control unit (ECU).
YazılımRSA Motorsports — Software by Drive Mode: R-Mode
R-Mode is an application uniquely developed by RSA Motorsports that offers users different engine power options via the drive-mode buttons.
YazılımRSA Motorsports — What Are Burble and More Burble?
Burble generally refers to the crackling/popping sounds that occur in the exhaust of internal-combustion gasoline engines for a certain time after lifting off the throttle.
VAGBMW and VAG Group — What Is a Data Log? How Is It Taken?
The headings below may vary by brand/model/diesel/gasoline. Each engine ECU may name things differently per make and model. You can find the closest match to the listed headings using similar wording on your car.
ŞanzımanBMW ZF8HP50 Oil Change & ZF8 Oil Filter
For BMW cars with ZF transmissions, the ideal transmission-oil change interval is 45,000–60,000 km. Regular oil changes keep your transmission long-lived and prevent potential problems. The RSA Motorsports team is always here for detailed maintenance and info!
ŞanzımanOn DSG Software Types, Problems, Solutions and Durability
The DQ200 7-speed DSG transmission has been used across various cars in three generations. The first generation is pre-2012, the second 2012–2016, and the Gen2 version post-2016. With dry-clutch technology it saves fuel, and performance can be raised with software updates.
TeknikAbout the Gasoline (Otto) Particulate Filter
The Gasoline Particulate Filter (OPF) is an advanced filter system used on gasoline cars to meet emission standards. It reduces harmful particles formed after combustion while keeping the filter clean through regeneration cycles, supporting long engine life.

In this article, where we cover the durability, performance and software details of the B48 engines used in BMW Gxx series, you can find answers to frequently asked questions. Discover the engine's advantages and usage tips for Turkish conditions!
VAGVAG 1.6 – 2.0 TDI Problems and Solutions (EA288)
Common issues on EA288 engines include high coolant temperature, coolant loss and a 1000 rpm idle during DPF regeneration. High temperature usually comes from a faulty coolant pump and requires replacement. Coolant loss is also linked to pump wear. DPF loading can rise with fuel quality and air–fuel ratio; proper software and maintenance are advised. Rarer issues include EGR faults, differential-pressure sensor problems, turbo balance loss and flywheel-related vibration at idle. The fix is usually part replacement.
BMWOn Turbo Upgrades for the BMW G Series 1,600cc B48 Engine
The TD04 turbo (made by Mitsubishi) used on BMW's new-generation B48 engines stands out with its reverse-spinning wheel. Hybrid turbo trials were run to raise turbo efficiency and gain power, but some projects were cancelled due to efficiency and engine-stress criteria. In testing, big-turbo cars showed issues at low-pressure efficiency, while with the right hardware and software support the 7.30i model gained roughly 2 seconds in acceleration. Details and test videos are shared on Instagram.
ŞanzımanBMW B38 (1,500cc 3cyl) — Some Problems and Solutions
Common issues on BMW B38 engines include heavy water vapor and coolant loss from the exhaust, a drivetrain warning with power limitation, momentary misfires and jerking on gear changes. Coolant loss usually stems from cracks in the turbo exhaust manifold, while the drivetrain warning comes from wastegate calibration issues. Misfires relate to spark plug and coil faults; shift jerks can be resolved with transmission calibration or a software update.
